Pardew on Simpson

Alan Pardew has today said that any rumours that were going around about Simpson leaving were untrue.
He also said “Danny has a future with the club but he’s going to have his work cut out now because Ryan Taylor is a terrific left back and we also have Santon now so he’s going to have to work hard for his place”

In recent events it has been declared that Fernando Torres has been dropped from the spanish side, the spanish manager has said that until Torres has started scoring for his club he will not be a member of my team. All of this has happend due to Torres only scoring 1 goal(against west ham) in 21 matches for Chelsea after his 50 million pound transfer from liverpool, but Torres has claimed that he will get his scoring touch back, when he doesn’t know but he says it will, but until the goals start flowing there’s no international foorball for Torres.

Alan Pardew looking to replace Barton

Pardew insists he will take tonight’s tie seriously – despite the dual demands it would place on his threadbare squad. Having seen Birmingham lose their Premier League status last season after winning the Carling Cup a few top-flight managers have dismissed the competition, but Pardew is not be one of them.

He said: “I’m trying to see past that, I don’t think the two things went hand in hand – I’m pretty sure there were other factors. But you have to look at our squad and say we are definitely better equipped to attack the two cup competitions.
