Andy Murray and Donald Young managed just three games of their fourth-round tie before rain returned to disrupt the US Open. The match had been postponed on Tuesday and delayed for another 90 minutes on Wednesday before the action finally got under way on the Grandstand court. But moments after Young saved a break point to go 2-1 up, the rain came back. In other matches, Rafael Nadal trailed Gilles Muller 3-0 and Andy Roddick led David Ferrer 3-1 when play was halted.
With rain expected all week, the men’s final could take place on the third Monday for the fourth successive year.
